Fionna Meets Killian

BACKGROUND

Fionna lived through a difficult era with her father Eoghan as a child and daughter from a broken home. He had three children out of her mother Shannon. Fionna and her two brothers Turlough and Ardal. Shannon had trouble accepting that Eoghan was immortal and when he tried to tell her the truth after getting shot she had him hauled off to a mental hospital and committed. That ended up with Eoghan landing in government hands imprisoned and experimented on. Eoghan got free of it after awhile and went back to Shannon but she didn't believe anything he said and divorced him then remarried a year later. He saw his children as often as he could while dealing with an impending Armageddon. As doomsday approached he arranged safe passage for Shannon, the kids and her husband but the husband refused to leave, and so did Shannon so Eoghan took his children by force and sent them to safety with their grandmother. Eoghan saw that his children were safe during the post apocalypse as he helped rebuild the world, but it all fell apart again and that's when Eoghan sent his kids off world when Fionna was eight, Turlough ten and Ardal twelve to Morashtar under the care of their grandmother still where he arranged for them to be guided and watched over by his dear old friend Niall who got them set up in Hawkers Fort, purchasing a fine tavern for their Gran to earn a living with.

Their grandmother Grania saw that they were educated, enrolling them in the best school and college in Hawkers, then after graduation all three of them joined the Blackstone Garrison.  The three served with distinction for centuries but things got extremely difficult in the Garrison and city in general when Magister Halen Dreward usurped Westguard's throne to take over the city and control of its offices as a pretender king.  Though not among the kinds of immortals Halen railed against the three immortal siblings did not wish to serve such as ruler as Halen Dreward and sold their tavern and home, resigned their posts and moved to Esscha Endor's new capital city of Blackstone.  

And now there was Fionna living in Blackstone running a fine Inn with her two brothers.  They had not laid eyes on their father Eoghan since he saw them off with Niall to Morashtar all those centuries ago.  Fionna gathered what information she could on their father learning a lot from Niall who more recently informed Fionna that Eoghan was in Morendor and would soon be in the service of King Octavian of Esscha Endor, he was certain.  Her brothers were no help as they resented Eoghan for dumping them in a strange new world and abandoning them there.  Fionna had seen it all as a great adventure on the other hand and was not only grateful to their father for saving their lives but believed he'd have been with them if he could.  Niall had filled her head with many tales of her legendary father and she understood that his was a life full of peril and events he could rarely escape.  He was the chosen, a scion of destiny, and that was not an easy role to fill.
